Gynecomastia
(Male Breast Reduction)

Ideal candidates for Gynecomastia
are men with excess or sagging tissues in their breasts
after extreme weight loss, or simply men with excessively
large breasts.
Gynecomastia may be carried out under local or general anaesthesia
depending on the extent of the operation.
The excessive breast tissue can be removed via liposuction
alone or in combination with excision. You will need to
wear a compression west for two weeks after surgery. Sutures
are usually removed within one week after surgery and you
may return to work after one week, depending on your occupation.
Exercise and strenuous activity should be avoided for four
to six weeks following surgery.
Major
complications
Major complications involved with the procedure are unusual,
but as other surgical procedures Gynecomastia has some degree
of risks, complication that may occur are haematoma and
infections which are easily treatable.
Following treatment the breast tissue does not grow back
but the swelling takes six to nine weeks to settle completely.
